Raymond & Mary Marner

OWNER/PRESIDENT

As a teenager, I began working with my uncles construction crew and that remained my profession for many years. On February 4, 1995 I married my wonderful wife, Mary, and later that year we began our first business venture with the development of Marner Builders. In the winter of 2001, I found myself helping to frame a house in Sarasota, Fl. The homeowner had a concrete pump mounted on a small trailer which he owned and operated for a living. In the course of our conversation he mentioned that there were 18 of these pumps in the Sarasota/Bradenton area to his knowledge. His comment got me scratching my head, “how can they use 18 in Sarasota and not even 1 in Daviess County?” After some research & asking God for direction, we headed to the bank in March 2001 and borrowed an outrageous amount of money ($25,000) and we dove headfirst into something we knew nothing about. For the first few years we worked the pump alongside Marner Builders and it was a success. Guys started asking “when are you going to get a boom pump for the bigger jobs?” So in March 2006, 5 years after our first pump purchase, we found ourselves at the bank again, this time to purchase a 1995 32 meter boom pump. While many times we found ourselves on our knees asking direction, God has been so faithful and He has blessed us above and beyond our wildest expectations. All honor and glory belongs to Him!  Thanks to all of our faithful customers, especially those who helped us through the early years with all of the learning curves of a new venture. Thanks to all of our operators for putting their all into a job that has dreadful hours. Thanks to my family who always supported me in every way they could. Thanks to my beautiful wife, Mary, for continuing to encourage me so many times when things looked hopeless – I love you! We have so much to be thankful for and our business motto stands more true today than ever before, “Build on a firm foundation – Jesus Christ.”
